Power Locks
Since purchasing my XJ, I have had some weird problems with my power locks. The lift gate lock won't work with the switch but will randomly try and lock. When it does this it just kind of rolls like it is trying to get enough power to kick over but won't. The only way to stop is to hold the lock switch on the passenger door. After some research it appears this a bad actuator? Although all the wires entering the lift gate at the top are frayed, which may be an issue as well?
Along the same lines all four of my doors will randomly lock and unlock as I am driving. Seems to happen more at highway speeds? The PO had an aftermarket remote locks and remote start installed. Could that cause that?
I really have no electrical background so I am quite confused. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Mine has the same issues. If I get it worked out I will let you know what is causing it
Waiting for parts that I need to come in drips and drabs.
Hopefully someone can give more insight into this.
The problem seems to be something in the passenger side door on mine(and no it is not broken wires on mine..at least not yet.)does your passenger side window work?
I asked for help but older members on here just copy and paste the same old stuff and don't read crap. so be prepared to hear about broken wires under the rug and thing of that sort.(everything on mine works when I give it 12V so I think it is the switch)

My passenger window works on occasion with the passenger side window switch and always works when I roll it down using the driver's side switch.
The power lock switch on my driver's door doesn't work but the passenger side switch does work. If that all makes sense.
