Is it possible to install different lights in place of the oem incandescent bulbs and if so what exact bulb size should it be. also is there any website for sizes for bolts, nuts, wiring, etc. diagrams would be great!! thanks 92jeepy

nah, not to sure on disassembling the while dash, i only took apart a few parts. One thing i seen that looks pretty neat is just take the bezel off that surrounds the radio, wiper and defroster buttons and vents and paint it the same color as the car. I seen it in 2 xj's personally and a 08 dakota and they all looked pretty sweet.

Typical instrument illumination lamps seem to be #37 or #74, with #168 used for indicators. I need to compleat that reference so I can encode it into HTML.

As far as screw sizes and suchlike, I'm workin' on it! Check the Tech section of my site (link in sig,) and feel free to let me know if you have anything you'd like to add!

(I know, not all of the links work at the moment. I had to move the site last October, then my MIL punched her ticket, then my wife had a new hip, then a new knee, and had her rotator cuff done six weeks ago. I'm a bit behind, as you can understand...)

so is there #37 and #74 intermixed within the cluster pannel, gear switch, or glovebox and the dome lights in the front and rear?

i am confused and what would the cross reference # be to switch to the l.e.d.'s ? if you could find that that would be amazing thanks 92 jeepy

#37 and #74 are essentially the same bulb, like #168 and #194.

I don't have anything handy, but if you Google something like <automotive lamp LED> (omit brackets,) you'll probably get a few hits. It's a "back-burner" project for my refit - I need to take the lamps apart and see about etching boards for LED arrays - probably use CREE or Luxeon units with beam dispersers, and have them look like they're mounted in stock lamp assemblies...
