Default Poping in 4 wheel

So i had a bad ujoint and it popped when i was driving in 4th soo i figured that was the problem but still when i turn or start off it pops but when i go straight its fine? I havea dana 30 btw

by "4th" you mean 4wd right? if so it "pops" when you're turning because there is binding because the front tires want to go a different speed than the rears, so this stored energy is being released by this "popping" of the u joints

Sounds like your u joints are needing replaced.

Did you check the u joints for play with no pressure on them?

When I first got my XJ it had a bad U-joint and it had these same symptoms. Replace them, or take it to a shop and see what they say.

mine started doing this *** soon as i lifted it i read some where its the coil spring turning in their seats i have a small wear mark on my coils where they touch the sway bar bracketsarms on the front axle

Like CheapCherokee said, its prolly "popping" due to binding caused by different rotation speeds of the tires when turning. It might sound like a dumb question but are all 4 tires the same size? If not, dont put it in 4x4 till they are.

What did you do to rectify this problem?? Or are you just living with it?

turn stero up before moving vechicle no lol have not cured prob yet am goin to make some spacers for the springs to raise a nother 2 inchs and fig out a better way to hold the spring that little bracket and bolt at the bottom is usless i only have this noise when using i 2wd on street

nice clean looking xj you have you said you hack and tap was easy mine was a***** shaft hard as hell
