I have a PO432 code coming up in my 2000 cherokee. So, Ive read a ton of posts in the past and see it can be the O2 Sensor.
Everyone is vague on which one it is, or they switched them all out...
But here's what the manual I downloaded says...its kinda funny.

P0432 (M)
1/2 Catalytic Converter Efficiency Catalyst
2/1 efficiency below required level.
So, uh, which is it? The number one sensor on the number 2 bank, or the number 2 sensor on the number 1 bank? lol....
I have a hunch it's the number one sensor on the number two bank since the generic code indicates inefficiency in the catalyst (bank 2).
But if thats the case, and this says its 2/1, then why is everyone changing the o2 sensors AFTER the cat (and yes, its a cali emission).
Just curious...and not going to replace all of the sensors at once...too expensive right now.......

2/1 refers to bank 2 sensor 1.. which would be the upstream sensor on bank 2 (last 3 cyl)
1/2 refers to bank 1 sensor 2.. which is the downstream sensor(catalytic) on bank 1. ( first 3 cyl.)
hopes this helped you out a bit

Thanks, I realize that. Look at the above desc I wrote. The error and desc call out two different locations...lol.
Here's the error
1/2 Catalytic Converter Efficiency Catalyst
Here's the desc of error.
2/1 efficiency below required level.
error says bank one, sensor 2
desc says bank two, sensor 1
Here's the error
1/2 Catalytic Converter Efficiency Catalyst
Here's the desc of error.
2/1 efficiency below required level.
error says bank one, sensor 2
desc says bank two, sensor 1

LOL...nah, its confusing. Basically the manual is whats confusing. they indicate the number two bank is the problem, but the descrption says its the number one bank.
Thanks, I appreciate the link, IM going to go look at it now...thanks for the time.
