Ok Iam going to finish my pan gasket and rms this weekend and I need to know if you can turn the oil pump shaft to help align rotor with #1 on the cap after the engine is set on TDC. Also want to know what spark plugs run the best with the 4.0 engine. Its an 89 model.I have been working on chevys my whole life and this is my first jeep. All opinions will be appreciated.

Just found out the guy I got it from had changed the pick up coil in the dist and that is where the popping came from when just soft on the throttle.Runs great at idle and hard on the throttle. So any ideas why it has done this or is there something else to look for? I just bought this jeep and have to fix rms leak and always want to do complete tune up when I buy used vehicles so i kinow what is in it.
