Default Plug wires?

I'm going to do a tune up on my new 96 XJ. Not sure that it needs it, but I would rather know it was done, and done right.

After searching these forums, I have found that the general consensus is to use Copper plugs. I'm going to go with NGK I believe.

However, I really haven't found anything about what type of wires.
Are the cheaper OEM style ok? or should I get the crazy expensive "high performance" wires?

The 4.0 is stock, but I may put on an air raid system the same time as the tune up.Not sure if that makes a difference.

So what say you?

Since I have some level of trust of Napa, I just used the wires they had. I wouldn't do that at some of the other places. Fine for a couple of years now...Do check that the new plugs are at .035.

"High-Performance" plug wires are a waste of money on an XJ, just get the "premium-quality" (usually $20-30) OE style wires (preferably silicone jacket), these tend to hold up better than the cheap wires. If you replace the distributor cap/rotor make sure to get one with brass contacts.

I always use NAPA Belden (lifetime) wires on everything and they've always served me well.
