Good Morning Fellas--
I need help, that is crucial to my well-being, because 1) I function well with music and 2) I must charge my phone.
My radio and lighter are out and I need to know how to TROUBLESHOOT (I'm all ears-I promise I won't take out the engine ;-) and FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP.
Thank you!

When you replaced the fuse, did it immediately blow when plugged in? Or does it blow when the radio/lighter is turned on/used.

Hang on...going outside to see the exact ones I replaced. I used a multimeter to test them and 2 were out a 5-all the way to the right and a 15-all the way to the left.Originally Posted by SteveMongr

2 and 19 were out and when I replaced them the lighter and radio continued not to work so I returned the fuses. I didn't test them afterwards. Which would've been a great way to go. What next?

Fuse #2 is 15 amp. Radio/Cigar Lighter
Fuse #19 is 5 amp. Insrument Panel Lamps/Radio Illumination.
When these 'blade fuses' blow it is visible between the blades. Pull the fuses and look..

Sorry for the delay went to my daughter's school to eat lunch with her. Looks like #2 is toast but #19 looks fine.
I used the multimeter to test them…now what? Thanks.

Turn off radio and unplug lighter.
Replace #2 fuse with a good one, 15 amp.
Does it blow right away? If not continue. One thing at a time.
We want to find out when it blows and maybe what did it. Listen for it to pop.
Turn on ignition.
Turn on/off radio.
Plug in lighter.
Did the fuse blow again doing any of this?

Okay, I returned the fuses on Sunday. On the way to buy some more.

As a general rule, always keep a few assorted fuses in the glove box. There may still be some hiding in there.Originally Posted by WomanNeedsJeepExpertise

There actually are done hiding in here but they are the wrong ones. I bought these...
Hey! It's doing well now. It's not shutting off. Should I replace #2 now?
