Hey all! Im proud to join the Cherokee gang now, TJ just sold... Along with the cash the guy threw in his 1999 Cherokee Sport for free!!! It has just over 200k on the original 4.0 engine and Auto tranny but runs strong!! Stronger than the 4.0 in my wrangler.. The only issue is this... You can go out and start it and drive it forever with no problems. (As long as it is over about 30 minutes) Turn it off and start it right back up..However, If you start it and run like 5 minutes and turn it off, It will NOT start. If you wait 15-25 minutes it starts again. The starter sounds like it is doing its job and Batt is good.. Maybe a flooding problem??? Im anxious to start building this thing but need to figure this first.

Welcome! First thing I would do is see if you're missing fuel or spark. IOW, when the problem is occurring, check for spark, and put a fuel pressure gauge on it, too.

I will be picking up my tools and checking on that tonight. Also I heard the TPS can cause issues like this.. sound like it could be the culprit?
