So i have an 88 xj the lost power and died as i was driving the other day and now struggles to start but when it does finally fire up it idles TOTALLY fine then dies after 3 seconds if ur not giving it gas

What ive done:
Cap,rototr,plugs,wires,distributor,coil,icm,iac,tp s,cps,fuel pump ballast resistor,fuel filter,fuel pressure regulator,map,battery cables,cleaned the throttle body dang near EVERYTHING but the fuel pump and ecu if anyone has ANYTHING that can help it would be MUCH APPRECIATED its my daily thats been down for a month now

Have you tested the fuel pressure, when symptoms are good and bad ? That is the only thing not listed. Rent or buy pressure tester. Then include your vehicle specs so we know what your working with.

Have you tried any of the tips from http://cruiser54.com? I'm sure you could find a friend to help out on the connector refreshing.

To give some more details for my friend here.
It's an '88, inline 6 ,manual (ax-5?). We have cleaned some of the connections, the ones dealing with the fuel pump and injectors, and refreshed the c101 (God that thing really was like tar). Have not added or cleaned grounds.
