Please help!!!!!
Ok gonna try and make this as short and sweet as possible. My jeep is throwing a p0700 and p0740 code. Trans and torque converter codes. My jeep sat for 7 months. Prior to that never had tranny problems. As of yesterday on a wheeling trip my tranny starting slipping real bad. On the trail the coolant temp would randomly spike to 250 and then drop super fast. Got thru the trail. My drive home it felt like I had no power. This morning I checked tranny fluid. It was burnt. Dropped the pan and changed filter. Fluid was red again! Took it for like a 20 Mile drive. Felt way better. Got home checked fluid. Burnt again. Jeep was so hot I burned my finger lifting hood. Any ideas?

I would assume your water pump is bad and isnt providing any coolant flow. If i remember the trans cooler lines are also integrated into the radiator as well. But dont quote me on whether it cools the transmission through the coolant too. That is my guess and maybe you overheated the transmission fluid too, or maybe your transmission is shot. Transmissions are magical things and i have no clue how they work.

you can let your tools sit for 7 mo, a hammer, a brick... but a complex machine,an old one especially, has got to be driven, warmed up completly, routinely. rubber seals, supposed to slide on metal in time stick. a thin layer stays with the metal and...you know how they leak.
a friend ran a car lot. he said if they sit long enough they get "lot rot"!
so it can be anything, many things.
i have 3 vehicles. they get a hot ride at least weekly or more. my 00 jeep daily. a lot of guys do what you did. they will be more help than me.
