Hi
My question isn't so much about vertical pinion angles as would be encountered during a lift but rather horizontal angles, like if the TC were pushed to one side or the other.
I used a square off the bottom of the differential case so the long edge of the square was centered on the rear differential yoke. When the straight edge got to the yoke on the TC, it looked like the 2 yokes were out of alignment by probably an inch. I'm pretty sure I have the tranny mount in correctly, but according to the straight edge, the TC needs to be pushed towards the drivers side to make them line up.
Is this correct as far as the alignment of these joints?
TIA

Yea, I'm part of that club as well, I really need new motor mounts as well as a new trany mount. My buddy just did both on his XJ and he says he can feel a big difference in his ride.

1) When you have the mount in your hand, it looks like the bottom bolts are offset from the top plate that bolts to the bottom of the tranny (looks like either / or \ depending on which way you look at it). Did that offset push the TC towards the passenger side or the driver side?
2) if you measured the crossmember to the approximate center of the set of holes that the bolts on the bottom of the mount sits in (on the crossmember), what was the distance to that approximate center from each end of the crossmember?
I just want to make sure that everything is in correctly as to eliminate the vibe I think this misalignment could produce. The vibe has been with this truck since I bought it and there's no way of knowing what the PO did.
thanks
