Pics of the Jeep finally!
OK so I finally got some pictures of my Jeep.
Got it 6 weeks ago stock (and not drivable). So far I have done:
Power Steering pump/belt
Oil pressure test/sending unit
New fluids- oil/diff X2/Trans/Coolant
New Stereo (did not have one when I got it) and 4 new speakers
CB install (cheap magnet mount I already had for antennae)
And of course the 3" Rough Country Lift/Bastard Pack. With 3.75" in the back it was sitting very downhill so I added a 3/4" spacer up front (second stock spring isolator). Still sitting low so I had the shop burn me a spacer out of 1/2" plate steel, getting me a total of 4.25" over stock up front.
Here are the pics- enjoy!
Here is a shot of the BP:
And the front spacers/spring:
And finally a shot of the GY Wrangler Authority tire in 31X10.5:
New bumpers are in the works. Gotta get some new lug nuts too (waiting on black to get back in at Autozone).
I added up all the $$ I have into the XJ right now and it is above $1200 but still less than $1300. I may spring for some Bilsteins soon though...

Thanks!
I still need to relocate my track bar to center the axle- it is shifted to the drivers side almost 1". Then doing the bumpers and some bumper lights...
Gotta decide on shocks or other mods after that.

The BP was made using the rear leaf springs from a '95 Dakota 4X4. Got me about 4" of lift without the helper spring, 4.25" with the XJ helper (what I wanted to do), but on the one side the XJ helper spring cracked trying to get the center pin out. I rebuilt the spring pack 3X in one weekend so it is staying at this height for a while. The Dakota helper spring is a good 1/2" thick in the center. Net height (and still sitting there after 1K miles and several hours of trail rides) is 4.75" using all the Dakota leaves and the XJ main (that remained on the XJ the whole time).

Yeah I do want to get another clamp. I was thinking of making one out of some scrap steel- pretty much the same as the one I have except weld it at the bottom and leave open at the top. There is a nice large rivet at the bottom there i could weld to. These were the ones available @ Autozone when I built the springs because neither set had a re-usable set like I was hoping. XJ set was too rusty, Dakota set required cutting it to get it off. :-(
As for the vibes- none at all and I do not have a TC drop, SYE or hack-N-tap. I have only taken it up to 70MPH (speedo reading, probably a bit faster). No need to go faster and no issues at all. I do want to drop the TC about 3/4" - 1.25", depending on the size of scrap steel I find.
Going to go pickup a spare 31X10.5 tomorrow and hi-lift jack I found on CL.
Cheers!

So far I am very happy with the tires- actually a lot less road noise than I would have thought given how aggressive the tread looks. Hit a mild trail with some mud holes today with my 4 year old son and they did great (first time with the XJ in the mud so we took it easy). It was just a 3/4 mile long farm access road with some pretty good ruts and a couple nice big mud holes. i love living out in the country! ;-)
I really like these rims now that they are black, although I am still searching for a second set of wheels- looking for 5 hole gamblers.
Cheers!
