Default A pic, a story, maybe some help

Well I've been working on my xj for the last 2 months getting it ready for summer. Lifting it plus a lot of fixing thinks that needed to be done. It's a 89 in really good shape 145,000 miles and I love the thing to death. I paid 1800 for it 2 years ago and in the last 2 months dropped about 2500 into it trying to get it where I want it. I am trying to do everything right tho... no half *** stuff on my rig. Anyway I thought I was finally done... motor running good lift done and finally found some 31 BFG M/T's. I did buy them used but after all that money spend just couldn't spend then extra 600 bucks for new. The first ride home man I was stoked my ride was done and looking good...... Untill I hit a bump and thought I dropped something on the highway. I found what the call the "death wobble". I tryed swapping out front and back tires as well as balanced them and new track bar. Got alot better but still happens on some hard bumps. What next??? Here's a pic of my rig too..... what you guys think??

Nice rig. Check for worn tie rod ends, ball joints, and the steering stabilizer. Any of these can be a cause for death wobble.

thats a tight rig bro. as far as death wobble goes unfortunately it could be anything in your steering system. check for loosness in your tie rod ends and ball joints. then check your stabilizer shock. Jeep as of yet has not made a steering system that can function great without one, especially highway speeds.

Thank's man, forgot to say that I put a better stabilizer on it with the lift.... tie rod ends are my next step I think

hehe, I have an 89 and mine does the same thing,, mainly hitting a sharp bump on the right hand side. The speed I`m going really doesn`t matter. I can go 75 on the freeway and it handles just fine, I just avoid any big bumps,,*LOL*
I need to replace all the stuff down under there also, (ball joints etc.) just waiting for better weather.
Hate wrenching in the rain.

looks like you have over 3" of lift... ?
imho, adjustable control arms will be needed to get the caster right.
I don't know what you put on it for a stabilizer, but the difference between Rancho and OME is night and day (personal experience)...
as mentioned above, check for worn/loose components, check caster (alignment) and go from there.

OME....??? forgive me I'm fairly new to the game. Your right It's a 4.5 RC lift... that's who I got the stabilizer from also... not sure the brand tho

Original Manufactures Equipment (or something like that) basically the stock piece either from the manufacturer or built to the same specs.

That is EXACTLY what I want my truck to look like after I install my jy lift

The only difference is that I am going to put Maxxis Bighorn 31s on my rig

I would recommend to replace your control arms with adjustable (if that didn't come with the lift)
