Well I was having some weird issues with the jeep xj I just bought yesterday..Some weird clunks & vibrations..I knew something was wrong right away & of course this started while I was at the smog shop after I buoght the vehicle.
I started it tonight & somehow it was in 4lo even though it said 2hi? I never even moved the selector, so it should of been in 2wd. Anyway I backed out of the driveway, shifted to 2nd since 1st will only do maybe 5mph in 4lo...shifted to 3rd. I'm doing like 15-20mph at this point.
Anyway I got about 100ft & heard pop, clank clank clank clank....Shut her down & pushed her back. Searched around & didn't see anything broken or leaking. Started it again & same deal, clanking in the trans.

So I'm looking at either a ax-15 swap or possibly a auto swap. Need advice or info on what to do here.

 

Head to your local junkyard. Stick vs. Auto is all personal preference. If you already had an auto that is a much easier swap and vice- versa.
