Default Periodic noise from A/C clutch area

Hello all,

First of all: Happy Holidays to all of you

I recently bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Do you need any further information on the car to help me?

Last week (because I had a big truck in front of me) I changed the A/C control on pull air from the inside only. After that the Jeep started to make a periodically nice. Sounds like a clicking and then rotating. I found out that it comes from the A/C clutch area.
When I turn the fans completely off, the noise stops.

I also took the following video:

What can I do to fix this issue? I'm not an Jeep expert yet, but is this something I can fix on my own?

Let me know if you need any further details, e.g. pictures, descriptions, etc.

Thank you so much for all your help!

Best regards,
Kai

Sounds normal to me. Thats the sound of your A/C clutch engaging. This is what happens when you select the A/C or Defrost option. In the summer heat, that clutch would be engaging almost continuously to get cold air inside your vehicle unlike what you are seeing now with cold temps.

Is it usual that this noise is quite loud and has a mechanical clicking in the beginning? Thanks for your reply

Yes, based on the sounds in your video, that is usual.
