Default Perfect, Even After 179K Miles

I'm tracking down a slow oil leak so I'm starting at the top with valve cover and working my way down. I pop the cover off and it's perfection under it. This is why I love well maintained Jeeps.

Quick question. Do you guys use a bead of RTV on the valve cover?

NO RTV. Felpro blue gasket only.

You will be kicking yourself in the nuts if you use RTV. IF it even seals properly, the next time you take the cover off to service it you'll be swearing your heart out.

Ask me how i know

HAHA. That's why I asked and why I love this place. No RTV, just a felpro blue rubber gasket.

BTW this is the gasket he recommended, EXCEPT for older Jeeps. Look it up for your year.
