What are some indicators of each tranny?

well thats transfer case, i want to know which tranny i have as i have the model year when it was changed halfway through

The Puegeot tranny case is split down the middle (front to back, along the driveline axis) (i.e. there is a left half and a right half).

Here is a photo of the back of one (without the x-fer case on it... assuming that I am allowed to post pics...)

I believe the x-fer case linkage is also unique for the Peugeot... so if we really are "pretending" you have a 2WD ( ) you can try comparing your linkage to the one shown (specifically, how it attaches to the transmission)

Ugh.....The infamous "BA10/5"
I have one too........not for too much longer I hope
That particular transmission was changed out in '89 for the Aisin Warner AX15
(In regards to the Xj's equipped with manual transmissions)
