Default Passengers cant roll their windows up and down

hey i gotta problem. i can roll all the windows down from the drivers control panel thing, but the passengers cant rol them down by themselves. if they want it rolled down they have to ask me. could the child safety window lock be faulty? the lady i bought it from said it was kind of a common problem in the XJ's. thanks!

Its the window lock on the drivers side... It develops a short and cuts off power the other windows... You can use a jumper wire from the positive wire the the lock wire that runs to the other sides. The connector is in the drivers side kick panel, all i did is jam the jumper wire in there and walla!!

Just did my 1999. Works great. I used a short piece of wire for the jumper rather than the paperclip. Then tapped it in place.
Thanks
Mike

same thing happened to me. i did the jumper trick and then the next day i started my floor board repair. the window and lock wires run under the driver carpet. there is a connector under there that was bad. i hooked it back up and that fixed it.
