Default Passenger power windows not working

Have a 99 cherokee classic. The passenger windows would work intermittently and have finally stopped working completely. Guessing it is something in the master switch which disables the passenger controls.

Anyone addressed this issue already?

Thanks

Does the motor in the passanger door make any sound at all when you engage it? If so, It's probably the gear kit. The motors don't usually go bad. Gear kits can be purchased at an auto parts store for around 30$. Replacing them is not overly difficult, but time consuming. The gears are plastic. They crack and ream out.

If it's totally silent, then diagnosis of the master switch, passenger door switch or wiring will be needed.

If it doesn't work from the master switch then its not the master switch. It could be the switch on the pass door or the widow motor. need to take the door panel off and cheek for power and ground at the window motor.

The lock on the master only disables the other switches.

i had this problem with my 98 xj and it turned out to be a malfunction with the lock on the master switch. what worked for me was to bypass the lock. be careful what you toy with in the master switch because it is easy to damage if you screw up. hope this helps

If all windows work from the master. It's the lock. I understand it is common. My switch has the same issue. I just pound the master switch and they start working again. I've been doing it for about 2 years now.
