Default parts store rear shackles

Im preety sure I heard that you can use autozone chevy shackles for 2 inches of lift. Is there any truth to that?

Anyone know a part number or any specifics on the part?

Pretty sure the sticky at the top of this section named "budget builds" has the info you're looking for.

At oriellys they have shackles on the shelf for dropping fullsize pickups. Curious if that'd lift our xjs?

You should get about 1.5 to 2 inches of lift. I used them before on my old xj and worked fine. Going to be using them again for my Comanche in a few weeks.

they will work. You may have to grind down the bushing and sleeve a bit for a perfect fit. I made mine fit without grinding but when I got new shackle boxes I had to grind them down.

So the off the shelf drop shackles for 35 bucks has the same dimensions as our leafs? And will lift it?! Hopefully a lil more then 2in because my packs are sagging a lil. Thats awesome though that I can lift my xj with off the shelf parts at the auto store.

If all they are doing is sagging you can also use the 2 piece overload spring kit and get roughly the same results. Instead of being a band-aid for the sagging springs it is more like screwing the bone together, and you get about 1 to 1.5 in of lift when you install both springs(2 on each side).

I was looking at that but I dont want a stiff ride in the back. Just trying to avoid the pickup truck feel.

I only used 1/2 the set(put the spring on the front half of mine) leveled back out and got back the stock ride feel from the sagging springs. If this is the route you go make sure you relax your springs before putting the kit on.
