Ok this is a stupid question i have a 2000 jeep cherokee sport were is the fuel filter is it in the gas tank or did someone redo the fuel lines and screw me on a filter cuz it is not on the fuel line...

Def in the tank. It's designed to be replaced as a unit along with the fuel pump module. I believe you can purchase the 2 strainers separately and replace just those. I know there's a very good writeup floating around here on how to replace the whole module, but I cant find the link for the life of me right now.

Good luck though if you decide to go ahead and change it!
