Check the bulbs and the bulb socket and wiring. If none of those are the problem it might be the head light switch but not since you said it only the passenger side.

If you have a bad fuse and replace it and it pops again and again id look to make sure noone has plugged in the 2 wires on the back hatch door mines where colored blue and black. Those are for a 3rd brake light and should not be connected. Some people think they came unplugged and try to rehook.

You can check that also

Default first thing first

before you go all day replacing one part after the other get your self a test light, ground it good, and check your leads, make sure you have power to both, and if you do your next step is to check the ground on the socket, very common problem that you can fix by bending the ground shim towards the middle,to make better contact with the light bulb,if that doesnt fix it,re-check the socket, good luck.

"Parking" lights are red (not orange), they come on before your headlights and remain on when the headlights are turned on (although they're just called tail lights when the headlights are on). Orange lights are either blinkers or emergency flashers and only come on when one of those things are activated... the orange lights only flash, they never remain constantly on.

Which of those two are you having troubles with?

Have you installed an aftermarket stereo recently?

WTF????
My parking light are orange. The only lights that are red are you tail lights. Your front ORANGE light are for you flashers, turn signals and PARKING LIGHTS. Every one else seems to know what MudMann94 is talking about.. BTW On all of my XJ's my PARKING LIGHTS did stay on with my head lights.

Yeah, and if you just installed a new stereo and hooked the dimmer circuit to it you'll have problems with the marker/running lights.

Easy killer, I was just clarifying. Thought he was talking about the rear lights which is why I said tail lights. The OP never specified front or rear and in this mecca of modification (SoCal), I've seen the rear amber (orange) lights wired to act as parking lights... I think they call it EuroStyle, I call it dumb.

I would follow the advice given and use a multimeter or test light to trace the voltage back to the switch. Your front parking lights, which are the vertical, orange lenses to the side of the headlights use a 194 bulb (the small wedge-type push-ins). The contacts could be corroded or there may be a disconnect somewhere. If the rear lights come on but not the front it leads me to believe it's a disconnect. Your front turn indicators (under the headlights) are on a completely separate circuit and have nothing to do with the parking lights as their power is provided by a relay.
