Indeed, LOL

For most things, I use a bluetooth dongle and the torque app. Works great for common issues. I have the PC stuff for more in depth issues. I rarely use it.

Thanks for all the tips.

I did check fluid. It was fine.
I drain and filled the tranny fluid 30k miles ago.
And I topped it off recently.

What kind of scanner TYPE do I need to look for? Not the brand.
I want to call Autozone and ask if they have the right type of scanner.

Thank Ronin.
I just am still curious, how do you know this one can talk to TCM, and the generic ones can not.
What specification in the product listing tells you a reader is TCM-enabled?
The listing just says "OBD-2" just like every other code reader does. This is so confusing!

Because I own it and have used it for such. The cable itself is not a big deal, it's the software you install on your laptop that makes a difference.

Here's a link to scantool.net, goes into what OBDwiz can do...

https://www.scantool.net/obdwiz/

Sometimes it's hard to tell what readers can and can't do, if purchasing, you need to do your due diligence before buying, if the listing isn't clear, contact the seller or manufacturer, and ask.

So, it's the software, not the reader?

Well, I just tried my Bluetooth dongle and OBDFusion!

P0700 Trans. Control System
P0753 Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical.

Thanks Ronin, I am going to start a new thread for this solenoid issue.

So, your reader was seeing it all along. You didn't state that in your original post, just you got the P0700 generic code. That kind of info is important.

Good that you have a solid code now though.
