P0700, P0705 new nss ?
hey guys i'm a newb here and i have a problem with my 98 xj classic... the jeep threw codes for p0700 and p0705 for the nss and i lost overdrive...instead of cleaning just bought a new one and installed...I cleared the codes after the install..now even after the new nss still no reverse lights and tried adjusting to make them work i can drive about 5 miles and od quits and cel comes back on...Can anyone help me PLEASE..Thanks in advance
I am having the same issues. I get TC# P0700, P0705 Mod$18 and P1899 Mod$D1. I am looking into it. I wonder if it is your trans controler vs. your NSS? If I get any answers I will try to pass it on.

THE NSS is for safety cut out in any gear other than N/P and it controlls the Reverse lights...i would look into the TPS,TCU,Wiring or a Faulty shift solenoid...as for the Reverse lights i would hope you checked the bulbs and fuse before spending the money for a new NSS. when my TCU started acting up i got simular codes and lost OD one from a JY XJ fixed it right up......
