Hey, I’m looking at possibly purchasing a 2000 XJ with 180k. The owner states it runs and drives except it’s coming up with a p0260 code. His mechanic said it’s possibly a fuel injector wiring issue. I’m curious if anyone has run into this and what type of cost associated with the fix. He’s asking $4k but willing to negotiate. Thanks for your help.

 

P0260 doesn't make sense for a Cherokee. P0206 would "Injector Circuit Malfunction – Cylinder 6". It could be as simple as a bad injector or damaged wiring. I would have someone knowledgeable look this over really well. Check underneath for rust or damage. The 2000 Cherokees had a bad reputable for cracked heads. What is that hanging down in front?
