Exclamation P0201, P0301 after camshaft replacement

Hello,
I recently just finished replacing my camshaft, timing chain, oil pump, lifters, push rods, and other odds and ins. Initially went in to fix what ended up being a worn cam lobe and stuck lifter in cylinder 5. This resolved itself with new parts and during the camshaft break-in, everything sounded great. Today, I finally got it back on the road for a test drive and things were going fine until I gave it some juice. The check-engine light popped up and began to flash. Turned around and noticed the familiar rough idle and acceleration. Checked the codes, and it turned out to be P0201 and P0301. During the engine tear-down, the injector clips on the plugs for just about each fuel injector snapped. I hoped that I would pop the hood to find it disconnected, but it seemed to have a decent connection. Any thoughts? It has a new coil pack, seemingly solid spark plugs, decent injector connections, and new everything else. Not sure how to approach this.

I felt that I should post what ended up clearing up the issues I was having on the Jeep. At my fuel injector connection for cylinder one, the positive and negative wires were touching. So, I unwound the wires and wrapped them in electrical tape. Continuity was then tested for both positive and negative wires from the injector connection to the computer. Continuity was present and confirmed by testing the continuity of operating injectors. Since continuity was established, a noid light kit from AutoZone was used to test if the injector was receiving a signal from the computer which showed that it was not. The light was used to confirm that the other injectors were receiving a signal from the computer. Fortunately, I had another computer in the garage. So, I disconnected the battery, swapped computers, reconnected the battery, and started it. The misfires and codes were gone, and after a thorough test drive, the issue seemed to be solved. My guess is that at some random point the exposed wires must have touched and blew the port on the computer.

Glad you figured it out! I think you're right. The short must have blown the driver in the PCM for #1. Good thing you had a spare!

On the 2000, the injectors get 12 v constantly and the PCM grounds the circuit to fire the injector.
