The misfires could easily be a symptom of another problem rather than a problem in itself. I'd start here:
- You are getting codes for bad O2 sensors. Replace them. They could be the cause of other issues.
- You blew a hose. Other than replacing it and the coolant, replace the thermostat.
- You say the temperature sensor is bad. Replace it.
You probably don't have a blown head gasket, but I bet you have a cracked cylinder head. You will probably notice that your coolant is low, even if topped up daily. It's entering the cumbustion chamber, causing a misfire and rough running. You'll also notice your exhaust is hot and steamy feeling.

Hello Red Baron,
Welcome to the forum!
I recently was trying to overcome the very same issues you are getting, with my 96.
Prepare for lots of questions, not only from me but alot of other very knowledgeable folks on here
1) Checked the antifreeze? milky or anything floating around in it?
2) Checked the oil? milky or watery?
3) Loosing any antifreeze?
4) When was the last time the coolant was changed?
5) Last time coolant system was flushed or pressure tested?
6) Have you or a shop you paid replaced any of the cooling system?
ie- radiator, water pump, thermostat, electric fan, fan clutch, sensors, relays
7) Are there any vacuum leaks?
8) Does turning the heater on produce heat in the cabin area?
9) When did this issue begin?
10) Were there any pre-existing issues?
11) Does anything make the issue "better" or "worse"
12) Does the exhaust produce any discharge?
ie- oil, water, antifreeze, carbon, sounds, back firing
my apologies for so many questions, many can lead you to a good answer to the issue at hand.
Hope we can help you
