Default overheating when wheeling

every time i go out wheeling the engine heat gets too high and i have to stop for a bit and let it cool down. id like to know any and all possibilities for what could be wrong. yes i searched but this way ill have all the possibilities in one spot. it doesn't heat up more than average at idle or when I'm driving fast on pavement, only off road. from what I've read i think something could be wrong with my fan but i honestly have no idea. also i have no ac pump i don't know if that makes a difference. thanks

Personally I would start out by checking the mechanical fan clutch. When was the last time you did any kind of cooling system flush. Also you may want to change out your t-stat and in stall a 195*.

Add in hood louvers as well.

Adding onto what Torrez said, also check the electrical fan (Make sure it's running next time the engine gets hot). And Mr. White has a good idea, that'll help massivly but it's good to start with the basic stuff.
