So I have a overheating problem when my jeep is in 2wd or 4wd drive and it's only when I am going slow speeds and i pull a hill then, and it climbs up real fast my aux fan kicks on but it keeps climbing till it red lines on the temp gauge I have replaced everything under the hood I put a new radiator new water pump and hoses I flush the whole system so I now at the point what I don't know what else to do

if your going slow, try popping your hood, even if your fan is running, it might not be getting enough air when at slow speeds (just make sure you close the hood tight before hitting hi-way speeds). does it seem hot? maybe the sending unit? any milky sludge in the oil?

sounds like your fan clutch is shot. The same thing happened on my 76 Firebird. It would over heat going up hills and slow speed but on the high way it would be fine. Change the mechanical fan clutch and see how that works, you need that constant volume of air to keep it cool.

Alright thanks I am getting a new fan for it and putting it on and I have had some people say I need to put a fan shroud back on it

New clutch, not new fan......the fan unbolts from the old clutch and bolts to the new clutch. Absolutely need a fan shroud.......for a couple of reasons.

I to had the overheating problem driving at low speeds in the bush or high speed on the open road. Replace the whole cooling system and change the clutch fan to a solid stub adaptor (fan spins at rotation speed) and still did not work. Eventually got myself set of washers and longer bolts and lifted the bonnet at the hinge 3/4" and never looked back works exceptionally good in the bush. Yes you do smell engine gasses when vehicle stands still but do this first (cheapest solution) and if it works you can make yourself some air vents to avoid the engine smell (my next project)
