Default Overheating nonsense with my seXJ

This is probably going to be an easily answered thread, or at least I hope.

Problem: This started about a week ago, after about 20-30 minutes of run time my xj's temp gauge is 3/4 of the way, almost to red. No leaks anywhere on the jeep, BUT the thermostat housing (or water outlet) is ooozing this weird orange-green goo type fluid that turns solid, and a lot of it..
I'm pretty mechanically inclined and have worked in shops before, but I have never seen the goo problem before.
I live in Houston, Texas so I understand it might run a little hot due to the blazing sun and South Texas summers, but 3/4 is too much.
I replaced the thermostat and gasket a month ago, and the water pump, gasket, and hoses last summer.
I think the water pump is faulty and creating the weird goo, but I would REALLY APPRECIATE some advice before I rip through my sexj this weekend.
Thanks!

I'd pull the thermostat and see what's in there, and why it's leaking. Is the thermostat installed correctly?
Did you flush the cooling system when you replaced the parts? Only time I've seen goo seep out like that is when there was stop-leak in the system, or someone mixed Dexcool with Glycol.

I know the thermostat is good. I still plan on going through it. And I know mixing different anti-freezes causes solidification, but I have been using the same brand and same formula for a over a year meow :/

Have u considered a new radiator and fan clutch.....general cooling system maintenance? Not sure how a pump can create goo.
