My previous 88 did the bottle blow without over heating. Replaced the head gasket and it still did the bottle blow and started over heating. Replaced the radiator and all seemed well until I added "water wetter". Well, all the rust, scale, and sludge in the bottom of the block went right into my new radiator. Cleaned the radiator and the bottle still blew. Replaced the plastic bottle with a Moroso aluminum one with a real radiator cap. Never had a problem after that. Going to put one one my current 88 once I get it fixed up.
