ive recently overheated my 4.0 in my cherokee its a 90 and still has the sealed coolant system but i put a 97 motor in it. the head gasket is now leaking oil but there is no coolant in the oil and no coolant burning and coming out the exaust. when it happened it had very little power right after and idled at 2000rpm it seems to run ok now but im unsure whether to rip it apart and do the head gasket because ive heard they can crack and warp pretty bad. if anyones had similar problems any input would be nice
You may have warped the intake and blown the intake gasket if its idling @ 2K, where exactly is the oil leaking from, between the head and the block? Does it overheat now?

its leaking oil from between the head and the block but im a little worried the head might be cracked or warped. its idling a little up and down now but i need to drive it again now that i put a new coolant bottle on it and see what it does
