overhead console no signal for mileage.

I'm hoping someone can help. I've been trying to chase down this gremlin and its driving me nuts.... the overhead console is getting power, compass and outside temp is functional...but I'm not getting any reading for mileage, MPG, etc.
Can someone tell me where the wiring harness for the overhead computer is routed in a 98 Cherokee? Maybe what wires carry the signal for telling the console the speed data... Much appreciated.
