I recently bought a overhead console with the wiring harness and bracket for $10 at the local junkyard. This unit is from a 99 where as my jeep is a 97. I've read several posts and none have helped me figure out how to wire this thing. The 99 had a plug under the glove compartment, where my 97 does not.

 

Well on my JGC the plugs were behind the kick panel on the pass side. Not sure if that helps.

I guess I'm just not sure what wires I have to splice into. Is there a harness somewhere or would it plug into the fuse block?

 

There are 3 plugs for your 97. They are tucked up a little bit and make it really crazy to decipher. However, when you find all 3 plugs, it's pretty much line up the colors and splice. I went the re-pin route so that mine was easily unplugged and removed if needed.

 

How far up are they? I've got the glove box off and the kick panel off but I'm not seeing them. I'm starting to think that I may not have them.
