Default Overhead console

I Have a 89 sports 2-dr. Saw some early 90s Cherokee with a long overhead console. Picked one up from the junkyard along with the wiring. The stock wiring on my Jeep doesn't have the main piggyback plug that controls the overhead screen (temp/miles?), but does for the lights (in process of installing LEDs into all 4 sockets). May go back to the junkyard to pull the whole wiring harness and splice it into mine. Has anyone done this before? Attached a pic of the console

I am mounting a small fire extinguisher and flashlight on the sides of the console and reinforcing it so it doesn't rip off. Resurfacing the fabric as well. Got all the mounting brackets as well. The headliner in my Jeep has been taken out to be redone (no fabric) and will cut accordingly so the console fits properly. I'm keeping the sunglasses holder but the other storage bin will be modified to hold some exterior light switches. Stay tuned!

Since you are going back to the jy for the wire harness you should also get the sensors for it too. If you don't none of the stuff will work. Let us know how it comes out.

I have the main harness that plugs into the console and all, but not the end where it comes out on the passenger side kick board.... Looks to be spliced into the whole vehicle, wish me luck

I would like to do the same with my 98. All I have is the small one with only the map lights.

I custom installed one from a '92 into my '85 that didn't have any wiring for it. Make sure and get the temp sensor from the front of the donor vehicle. This might help.
