Default Overhead center console

Hey guys. I have a 99 cherokee sport. I’m looking for any info on doing the overhead center console. Does anyone sell them or mostly find them used? Als any wiring diagrams and what not? I couldn’t find the forum on here for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone

I actually somehow collected three of them. I have not installed one of them yet. The big issue is that the sides have headliner material and that needs to be replaced. It would be either gray or tan depending on the interior color. You also need the wiring harness from the donor vehicle which leads down the passenger side and plugs in behind the kick panel. I thought a while back I found some posts on installation. I believe the headliner is going to have to come down or you'll have to get creative leading the wiring.

It would be much easier with the headliner off. Plus unless you get an overhead console headliner have to figure it will be easier to make the holes you need in it with it off anyway.
I had mine recovered but have seen a picture where the guy just pulled off the fabric, cleaned up the plastic under it (maybe painted it), and ran it like that.
Did not look half bad.

Disconnect the battery before you mess with it, to avoid any unwanted or accidental shorts.

Removing and recovering a headliner is not that difficult and very rewarding. The hardest part is removing all the trim pieces and screws and keeping them together so you know how they go back together. There are many Youtube videos on how to cover the liner with new fabric and what glue to use. The trick is to use fabric that is thin enough to stretch slightly and to trim it so it overlaps at least 1 inch over the edges so that it won't come loose and glue that down. I've seen 2 different ones that I liked very much. One was treebark camo and the other was a Navajo blanket pattern. Buy enough material to cover the sun visors as well. Doing them is the tricky part. After the glue has dried, cut an X across any holes you need and fold the fabric over and glue that to the back. The rear speaker holes will need enough radial cuts so the fabric doesn't wrinkle when you fold it over. Any good fabric store will have material that's wide enough and many choices. So man up and hit the fabric stores! One way they tell me to cover the sun visors is to put the fabric good side down over it and stitch around them, then pull it off, turn it inside out, and put it back on like a sock, closing the final edge on the pivot side so it's hard to see. My wife's suggestion.
