If you overfill your transmission fluid where does the extra come out at?
Is there some kind of overflow port? Or is that just the dipstick?
It's an AW4 transmission.
Edit: Basically I accidentally overfilled the AW4 and now it's leaking from somewhere, but every time I check the fluid level it's still pretty high. I've done some reading about the AW4 and overfilling, but I haven't seen anyone mention where it would spill out from. I think there are breathers on the tranny, but I have no idea where they are at. I have yet to have enough transmission problems to know anything about them.

There's a drain plug in the transmission pan. Drain some out, catching it in a clean can. Then use it to bring it back up to the proper level, OR drain it all and put 4 fresh quarts back in.
breather if you really over-filled it...how much did you add ?
most auto trans leak a bit from the shifter seal
I agree drain some out via the sump plug
The AW4 is a little tricky to get the levels correct, I have seen conflicting info. Once checked correct a few times within specs after refill or top up, it should be ok

We're lucky in that we have that nifty drain plug. I'd just pull it and drain some out. You can also order a cheap oil analysis sample kit from amazon that comes with a large syringe and some vinyl tubing and pull it out though the dipstick tube, but that will take a bit.
