no i just think its real cold wher your at start it and block th grill with some thing and see if it gits above the temp that worries you might be your thermostat is stuck open not allowing the water to stay in the motor long enough to get up

Does your heater work? Can u borrow a scan tool to verify coolant temp? U could be getting a false reading from the temp gauge.

I kinda got the same thing goin on too except mine is only when i have heater on. with it off it about 190 and when the heats on it about 170. I noticed my mpg kinda got worse since its been colder out here (ny).
Your getting too much coolant flow. Check the t-stat, if its stuck open (rare unless you have a fail safe t-stat) replace.
To check that its not opening too soon. Remove t-stat. Put some water in a pot and place on the stove. Use a thermometer to verify the water temp. Put the t-stat into the pot of water and then turn the oven on. At 195* the t-stat should open.

humm..I had a "fail" safe and it stuck open...and replaced that with a superstat. And before all that a cheap one from auto zone. so I go thought a lot of thermostats. Any other "better" brands out there?
I really like Stant, never had any problems with them. Napa carries them or you can use their website to locate a local dealer.
