we will need a lot more information before we are able to assist you with your issue.

what do you mean by "it will start other ways"

what happens when you crank?

what troubleshooting steps have you already completed?

While Renix does narrow down the year a bit, but there are still differences, like in the 87-88 XJ which have the c-101 connection (a common problem area) as opposed to the 89-90 which don't.

So we really need specific year, engine, trans, and what methods have worked and what tests you have done.

Also being a Renix check out this site and depending on year do tips 1-5 or 1,3-5

So it's a 90 renix with a 88 harness and a new 90 ecu. The old 90 harness fried up a wire somewhere and burnt the old ecu. Pretty much just hard wire the starter to get it to crank is the only way it starts. So what I have done was refresh all the grounds and I took a test light to the ignition wire on the relay and I took a test light to the red at the steering column
