Default Oil pump pickup tube

Reinstalling new oil pump with a new pickup tube from Napa, finishing up oil pan gasket, rear main seal, pump replacement project. I tapped the new pickup tube into the pump and reinstalled but noticing there is a little wiggle in the tube to pump. Is this going to be serious? e.g. pressure issues if the pump is pulling any air? The wiggle is very small, + 1/8 maybe at the pickup end? So do I need to pull the pump or get another tube, it was tighter when I installed the pickup I'm thinking bumping it with the pan bothered it. What do you think about the pickup tube being lose(a tiny amount)
Thanks!

PS I snugged it back in with the rubber mallet with not much change,

I did one a long time ago and I remember something about heating around the pickup tube hole on the pump. It expanded the metal enough to get the tube further in and nice and tight. I'm a novice mechanic so personally, I don't know if this was the right thing to do and if not, I'm sure someone will chime in.

As far as putting it back together as is.....mmmmm I don't know. It's a pretty messy job to just have to take it back down again if the tube falls out.

Good idea it is in as far as the flange around the tube, and bolted with a bracket midway off the tube so wont be falling out. Oil pressure was my main concern but a new tube would seem the only way to get it perfect, but thanks bobvalli for the input anyone else?

When i did mine i had no play at all. a litle play may cause air being sucked in i would defanitly fix that even if you had it welded to the pump, but somthing is not right if it wiggles around.
theck thru this thread for some info and comments when i replaced mine. like i said in the past many many times HIGH VOLUME is the way to go.
