oil pump

hi my car proble on oil gage . level oil betweet (0 to 40) i dont no why ? some time zereo when my car hot ..... if my car cold level is ok 40 ?

WELCOME to CF.
The oil sending unit and gauge on these XJ's aren't the most accurate. You might want to hook up a mechanical gauge to verify the actual oil pressure.
