hey everyone I bought a new oil pump for my 96 cherokee 4.0L and i was wondering how to get the oil pickup shaft into the pump motor. the two pieces are separated when you purchase them. i'm thinking about using a rubber hammer but i'm not sure if that's the best way to get it snug...

 

I have done it before, works fine... Just have to be patient with it as it doesn't move much at a time
