Default oil pressure switch wire

The wire that connects to the oil pressure switch has gone bad. The rubber backing wont stay in n it leaks oil through it when running. Is there a specific name for that wire? The oil pressure switch is fine itself. Anyone know a good place to get it or some instructions on an easy way to takeout n install?

If it's leaking oil through it then the switch is bad.

But the oil is coming from the wire plug that connects to the pressure switch. If u look at the plug there's a rubber back the wire feeds through n that piece is loose.

The oil is coming out of the sensor through the plug and pushing the seal boot in your plug out. Clean the plug, push the boot back in, and replace the sensor.

you need a new oil pressure sender. sometimes they break when your changing your oil filter, if your lucky it breaks in way where it doesn't leak but this isn't your case.

no you need to replace the part that threads into the block. the part that connects to this piece with the wires should be fine.

if i'm not mistaken, this is what you need http://www.quadratec.com/products/52...googlemerchant i've broken like 4 of them

Autozone has 2 different styles of this part. Does it matter what one I get? People at my autozone aren't very smart and just got this jeep not long ago. Still learning bout it.

it probably matters, were the plug on the wire end plugs into the sender it could be different. if their computers say that both units will work for your year cherokee, i'd just get the cheaper one.

Disconnect the plug and take a cell phone pic or draw what it looks like.

There are two possible senders.

If your instrument cluster has an OIL PRESSURE gauge, you need a sender for use with a gauge.

If you cluster just has an idiot light, you need a sender for use with the light.

Their parts system should differentiate between the two.

Just tell them if you have a gauge or a light.
