Default Oil pressure sending unit connector

I can't get the connector removed from the oil pressure sending unit. The red locking tab is totally removed but I can't feel anything to squeeze or push to make it release. Thanks for any advice.

The connector itself is broken as well. It is missing a push tab. The two thin 'bars' showing are the remains of that tab. You will need a small pik or flat blade screwdriver to release them, which will allow the connector halves to seperate. The electric fan connector works the same way. Might even be the exact same connector by the looks of it.

Thank you. Yes, the push tab was broken off. I fiddled around for about an hour poking a thin flat edge (broken surgery scissors) into the back of the connector gently until it magically released. Took patience and couldn't do it much faster the next time. Placed red tab back in.

Replaced oil pressure switch (autozone name, part ps401) for free since had done it 5 years ago under lifetime warranty. Otherwise $45.

Tips-

Removes best with 27mm deep well socket but not super tight so American just over an inch works too.

Oil does not leak out when switch is removed.

I put a thin coating of black RTV on threads.

Seems to have fixed recent zero oil pressure and previous fluctuations in pressure based on temp and rpm
