Default Oil Pressure Knowledge needed

The other day my oil pressure was reading 40 lb. @ idle and then going to around 60 lb. under load. I went to go somewhere and the pressure is now reading 60 lb. and 80 lb. under load. I replaced the sensor about 2 months ago and have no issues until yesterday. Any clue on what the issue can be. I don't want to have the engine going boom on me...

I would hook up a manual gauge and check it.. if it shows its that high.. then oil pressure relife valve is stuck...

Can anyone tell me what is involved with replacing the oil pump. i went to my local garage the other day and they told me $856.00 to replace the oil pump. that sounds ridiculous!!!!!! They said the book calls for 6 hrs of labor. Its a '90 cherokee limited with a 4.0. Any hints would be great....

ya jack it up and let the AXLE hang and pull the pan out......if your doing the Oil pump be sure to do the RMS and a new OP gasket also....but the job isnt hard.
