Default Oil Pressure Gauge Issues

Hello Everyone, ill start with I know this has been asked a million times but I cant seem to find anyone who has had this same problem. My oil pressure gauge is pegged at 3 o'clock all the time. car on or off doesnt matter its stuck there. I have unplugged the sensor and it stays the same. I pulled the cluster and reset the gauge by hand and as soon as I turn the key it pegs out. The sender was also replaced but I think it is somewhere else since the issue is present with the sender unplugged. I have checked the pressure with a mech gauge and it was normal. I am really trying to not have to run an aftermarket gauge. Im at a loss at where to look, any help at all would be much appreciated.

It sounds as if you have a ground short in the wire from the sender to the gauge...

From the 93 FSM, the sensor is roughly 1 ohm resistance per psi. So if the gauge is pegged would would be more indicative of a broken wire, versus a short. The FSM says grounding the grey wire at the sensor should make the dash read zero. Disconnecting the sensor should make it read full-scale. I would also inspect all the ground wires under the stud that holds the dipstick on. It's pretty common to have poor or broken grounds there.
