Hey everyone. Just picked up a 93 xj....haven't had any time to get under the hood yet but notice a couple things. The one I can't figure out off the top of my head is why the oil pressure gauge will fluctuate as I accelerate. Will idle normally but when I give it gas the gauge will go off the chart. Is this a sending unit thing?

 

Sounds like a faulty sending unit. You can get a BWD brand one from the local parts store for about $20 and change with an adjustable wrench in ten minutes.
