Hi,

I tried to change oil and naturally oil filter. Unfortunately there is not enough space to even fit in the key to remove oil filter.

Is there any trick on how to do it?

I find it easier to get to the oil filter from the top..... more room to get a filter wrench on it.

and if that dose not work.. hammer a screw driver through it!

dont forget to dab some old oil on the rubber ring of the new filter

 

Yep i've used the screw driver trick a couple times. Also Channel Lock makes a cool big plier set for oil filters. Can be found anywhere. Harbor Freight too! NO FRAM FILTERS

 

X2 on the chanel lock pliers and no fram... purolator makes a much better filter

 

Get it from the top. Use a cup style filter wrench with a 3/8" drive extension.

 

i use motorcraft filter.....cheap and has a anti-drainback.

 

I prefer Wix filters. If you ever cut open a couple of different filter brands, you would know why.

 

Why not Fram? Bad experience?

 

You can get Mopar filters at WalMart now, and they are not too expensive. +1 on getting it from the top. Be careful if you go the screw driver route, because once you go there, there's no turning back. I have done it too, but as a last resort and usually with a factory filter. It seems like the factory always torques them on with no oil on the seal.

forum rumors...........jiffy lubes filters are made by fram....they never have a issue. alot of customers with 200k+ and vehicle was JL serviced since day 1

I use the oil filter plier type tool, from under the hood, has worked good for me so far
