What oil are you using? Synthetic oils will cause oil leaks in high mileage engines. I had this problem before I changed my RMS.

Try using Valvoline high mileage oil and see if the leak slows down.

Don't add anything to the engine oil or transmission ATF to stop leaks.

I have a rear mail seal leak also. I just live with it. Wife doesn't like the silver dollar spot in the garage but oh well. Your options are to live with it and watch your oil levels frequently, fix it yourself, or pay a shop to do it for $500-800.

Ok well I thought it was engine oil at the time because it appeared to be leaking at the drain plug. Now it seems it's higher up now that I had time to look at it. I guess I'll just check my fluid levels

Ok check if you have oil by your starter, If so it is your oil sencer or filter assy.
Look around valve cover is it wet of dry. It could be any of theses. Or your oil pan.

Check your distributor gasket as well.

I have had that problem with other vehicles and I fixed by making a gasket washer out of cardboard (shoe box,oil filter box, etc.)

Whatever you do, do NOT use a stop leak product. Not good stuff right there.

Next, find out where you're leaking from and fix it. Sounds like it's either your valve cover or oil filter adapter. Very common leaks and there are a ton of write ups on both the procedures to fix them.

Well here is an update I didn't replace any gasket or change to a thicker oil or add a leak sealer and I check the oil level and it's full all the way up same spot as the day I changed the oil.

So I think it's the transmission right? Well wrong again. I checked the tranny and it has fluid barely easing out the fill hole. I'm stumped I haven't seen the drip in two days so I'm out of theories.

All my other fluid levels are the same as well.

Could it have been that I ran so long between oil changes that the oil could have just gotten so thin and leaked through the oil pan gasket maybe?

Did you check your oil filter adapter housing? They leak all the time.

I'm confused though. Is this engine oil or trans fluid that's leaking??

And to answer your question. No. It wouldn't start to leak just bc you hadn't changed it in a while.

I can't tell the fluid the amount of dirt that was caked around the pan made it difficult to determine if it was gear oil or motor oil.

I checked my oil filter and that's all dry. I'm stumped and thankful I have fluid in everything though.

I'm shifting good and my motor isn't making any noises. The oil pressure gauge is reading just a tad higher than 40psi. It's a mystery.

I'm going to get some degreaser and spray it and then power wash it off to maybe see of I can see where it was coming from. But like stated earlier I haven't seen the leak in two days.

Check the adapter that connects to the block, not the filter itself.

Engine oil is brownish/black and trans fluid is red(unless it's burnt) and gear oil smells horrible so you'd know. Plus the only gear oil in the jeep should be in the rears. The t-case takes ATF also.

Next time fluid leaks and drips, touch it with your finger. What color is it? I guarantee it's motor oil. You're not going to see a noticable difference in the oil level on the dipstick after driving around for a couple days if you have a very slow and steady oil leak.

And what fill hole are you talking about on your transmission? You fill the transmission through the dipstick...

Degreasing the engine is a great start though...

I don't have a dipstick on my tranny. I read in the Haynes manual you fill it through the fill plug on the driver side of the tranny because its a standard. It was clearish so I first assumed motor oil. But I changed my oil on the 20th of March. The oil level on my dipstick is the same level as it is every time.

Yea just double checked and I fill my transmission fluid on the driver side of the case through the fill hole.
