bad pcv valve, bad piston rings letting compression into crankcase thus causeing pressure inside the engine and blowing oil threw the breather into the intake, or someone spilling oil on your filter

first things firts, gotta figure out if its the rings or the pcv valve, to test your rings you would use a compression tester and do a wet test and a dry test (check compression dry, then put a few drops of oil in spark plug hole into cyl to "seal the rings" then test compression again, that will tell you rougly how much pressure is getting by the rings) but first check the pcv valve and make sure its not stuck closed

if you dont have a compression tester, or dont have a friends with one, id start with replacing the pcv valve, theyre like 10$, if that doesnt fix it then I would get someone to check the compression, how does the jeep run? does it feel like a dog or like its low on power? How many miles are on it?

The PCV valve is setup to keep the oil inside the engine, not let it drain out, I would get a pcv valve for it before you forget to add oil to it and seize your motor Thats just my opinion though, they arent that expensive so why risk it? haha

edit: Does the breather tube coming from the valve cover connect to anything? like the airbox, or another small filter? or is it just and open hose? Because if its just open, you can suck dirt into the valve cover, aka into your oil, and being a jeep, we all know they see a lot of dirt

I went to all the different stores they dont even offer a valve it is said as N/R (not required) for my year. .... Nobody can even order it.

Comment on your edit: It used to connect to the air box. But being as how the picture I attached is the result of that i took it out and threw a mini filter on it. It just smell like Hells rear end now.

Unplug the breather tube from the filter box and stick it in a plastic bottle. Once in a time empty the bottle.

Thats what i have been told the bottle idea sounds fine. although i would have to seal it up i go wheeling in the mudd quite a bit would the bottle being sealed cause a problem.

Also would it cause extra oil push through the tube if the Valve drain holes were clogged?

Thanks for all you help.
